Drunken Sailor

What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor is one of the most popular pub songs that Paddy & Bill perform. People always start asking for the Drunken Sailor shortly after Paddy & Bill take the stage. Needless to say the sound is deafening each and every time they do the song.

Drunken Sailor was a work song often sung when raising a sail or raising the anchor, which is the reference for “Up She Rises” in the song’s chorus. There are many different versions of the lyrics, and possibly thousands of individual verses. The lyrics are self-explanatory.

Drunken Sailor was recorded by Paddy and Bill on the Live At The Shanakee audiocassette tape and the One Drunken Night CD.
